Re: ***Official TRACK ARRIVAL Thread***

Let me just say that the administrator for http://www.kiextreme.com didn't personally go to the factory and hasn't seen pics, so this is all hearsay at this point. I know this because I talked with him, as we are good friends. I will remain very skeptical until I see pics (with the label), supports arrive at Carowinds, or the park makes an announcement themselves.

EDIT:

I was browsing some of my pictures of Behemoth and Diamondback and noticed some interesting connections.

On Diamondback the transfer area supports are the same color as the non-lift supports for the rest of the ride.
Image

On Behemoth the transfer area supports are orange, which are the same colors as the ties, top of the spine and underside of the spine.

Safe to say that silver will be a largely involved color for our new ride. :)

Well, it's time someone did an update instead of worrying about breaks and invertions.

Image
First up, I can't resist this after seeing this today... WASHING MACHINES UNDER THE BRIDGE!

OK, I'll put that joke to rest, until I think of another HUTB joke. But next year we'll really have to put it to rest.

Image

Dirt porn daytime. But wait, night is coming!

Image
The footers ma'am, just the footers.

Image
Did anyone figure out what this is?

Image
In the shadow of the...Sky tower.

Image
If the window wasn't so cloudy you'd easily see that red B&M track peaking over at us from behind Thunder Road.

Image
And what are we digging here?

Image
Hmmm.. Jarvis must be making an appearance.

Image
I almost forgot about taking some perfectly legal pictures of track!

Image
Still only 6 pieces out there so far. I like this view a lot more than last year and that certain blue track that was out there.

Image
And now for DIRT PORN IN THE DARK!!! Here we see one of the Decepticons dropped by the park to destroy the footers.

Image
Look! They finished the station today!

Image
Cue any Blair Witch joke you can think of.

Image
And a few random updates: my car has arrived.

Image
Apparently you can come in the first time without a shirt, but you need one to come back in.

Image
75% OFF!!!! GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU STINKIN' KIDS!!!

Image
This would be such a nice shot with the moon and all if it weren't for that stinkin' trash can!

Image
Looks kinda Haunted Mansionish at night, no?

And that's all for now peeps. Ride On!

There are eight pieces of track on site currently. Look at the cell phone pic on page 8 of this thread for proof. :)

Ok, this is about Kings Dominion but bear with me as I think there's a connection.

KDFansite.com's admin Clint Novak recieved his invitation to KD's media day event. In the invitation it teases about their new coaster. Aside from the generic teasers there was one very interesting detail: the invitation was shaped like a race car; a race car with the number 15 on it.

Perhaps our sister's new ride is more closely related to ours than we've thought?

That really isn't too surprising. Last year's theme for Cedar Fair was "jungle". Prowler was called "king of the jungle", and Carowinds and KI both got rides named after snakes. Words of Fun had a similar crate to the one Carowinds had for Cobra.

This year it looks to be "racing" as the theme, at least for KD and Carowinds. The "Gee See Eye" at Cedar Point may join the fun as well, although with it being CP and them already having Dragster they may go their own way.

Hmmm, as far as the colors go, i have an idea.

On the carowinds website the banner says:

record breaking(white)
history making(yellow)
8.26.09(red)
carowinds.com(silver)

Could that mean red and silver track, and the cars could be white and yellow?

I think you are definitely on to something, but I would change it a little. I think it will be red track, yellow supports for the lift hill (a la Diamondback), silver supports for the rest of the ride and transfer track, white trains with red seats. I still haven't figured out why they did the two different support colors for Diamondback, but I am going to assume we will get the same.

^that could be right, too. But I don't like how Diamondback has 2 different color supports, and I really hope we don't get that too, although we probably will.

Oh, and when i put red and silver track, I meant red track and silver supports  sorry. but i hope everyone knew what i meant.

People often forget about Behemoth which, has the same support color for the entire ride, and is also a B&M hyper at a Cedar Fair park. Diamondback after the lift hill is pretty well hidden by the trees, where as Behemoth is in your face all around. I think our ride will be more 'in your face' so hopefully the same support color throughout.

As for why Diamondback has 2 different support colors, from what I have been told, it's so that the lift hill stands out more against the rest of the ride, rest of the park, and the trees around it. But the rest of the ride is in the woods so its somewhat difficult to notice from a distance. If there were no trees around it would not be as easily pulled off. Also the yellow and tan color look almost similar from some angles, where yellow and silver are nothing alike.

Just a few more posts and I will have completely convinced myself that yellow won't be a part of this ride..

From Cedar Point's Twitter page:

"I prefer my lunch TOGO...especially when there's lightning around."

JamminJ wrote:Safe to say that silver will be a largely involved color for our new ride. :)

If they go with a white lightning theme, that could work. But, I doubt ti'll be white lightning. Also, it could work for just about anything, so that color doesn't help  .

Also, they use that same herse at other CF parks.

The yellow on the lift was so it'd stand out more, and to sorta match the color of a diamondback. The rest of the supports are tan so that theyh blend in with the trees and it's not as noticable.

Ok. I was reading through the Carowinds' thread on KIExtreme.com. Someone posted on there "I was told today that it will be themed to Dale Earnhardt Senior and the coaster will be named The Intimidator.I was told the coaster will be red and black...more info later.

Edit-I just looked at the pictures and have more faith in my source."

Don't say, 'Oh. Doesn't everyone have their own sources?' That particular member has been a member for years and wouldn't just make that up. Also, Dale Sr. was born in NC...
