OK time for my update:

Image
The ant hills keep growing. I guess they are doing soil tests?

Image
Will do.

Image
Apparently white paint wasn't good enough, so they painted over with orange.

Image
76 is that way.

Image
Drilling co.

Image
As you can see the markings go all the way to south gate.

Image
I'm guess the turnaround/hammerhead will be here but they are using it for all the junk they dig up right now I think.

Image
Hello south gate. I haven't used you in a while.

Image
Only cut here if you want to see something go BOOM!

Image
Just a comparison of a Vekoma footer. Nighthawk's says something like "F20A", like Footer 20 A.

Image
More footerage.

Image
Time for dirt porn!

Image
Hmmm.. what is going on here?

Image
There were a few peeps at Sonfest.

Image
Just a few... and that's all for your daily installment of dirt and paint porn.

Who you?

And there's even KD fanboys who still think they are getting the red B&M after seeing the Intamin show up... I feel sorry for them.

Oh really? Is it on the KD Forum? I'll have to go over and read it if so, i'm having a bad day so reading that might cheer me up a little.

Yes, that's where it is, but I worded it wrong... so I edited it. And it is quite amusing.

No. I think Carowinds is getting a B&M. But, I guarentee you 100% that there is someone out there who doubts it.

And does anyone think there is still possibility for a giga at KD? Would CF buy giga and a hyper in the same year?

I think it is very possible that KD gets a giga.

Nothing goes together like Sonfest and dirt porn.

Thanks Wes. Since I figured you'd be getting some good shots this weekend, I stayed home, relaxed, and had a few bowls of Cookie Krisp.

Which way is 76 again?

Environmental/geotechnical drilling is what they're doing on site. Or in other words soil testing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotechnical_engineering

They tore down almost everything, but kept the little brown building behind the backhoe: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/215596 ... 8143YJpebe  Is that like an outhouse or something for the construction workers? Maybe Jarvis's house?

It's not Jarvis', it would have a tripod on top of it.

During the construction of Diamondback, there was a building similar to that. No one knew what it was for. I can't remember if they ever tore it down or not, though.

Did anyone else notice that 76 was actually 76'? Does anyone think that means 76 feet?

That marking was for when they were putting the fence up. If you walk along the fence there are white lines where the fence goes, along with foot markers from the curb to the spot where the fence is.

b&mcoaster1095 wrote:^ Yeah, it was White Lightnin', King Kobra at KD and Tidal Wave at CGA that opened in 1977 and were the very first launched coasters in the world.

King Kobra was the prototype WL & TW were the next two built afterwards.

Have patience, track for your new coaster will show up when the park is ready for it.
