My best guess is that you need a floor for the lapbar to stick out of, and OSTR's on a hyper would suck. Plus on the hypers you are so high off the floor anyway it almost feels floorless.

2 very good points. I can buy that.

I was at the park this past Sunday for a regular operating day for the first time in almost four years. I will not bore you folks with the side orders. I will get right to the meat of it. I took all my pics in common areas. I did not tresspass or walk into areas that I should not be. All pics where took by me. Had to include that to cover myself due to nature of my work.

Guess this is all that remains of the flume as of sunday

Image
Here we have the almighty Dirt/Rubbish pile with some fresh mud thrown in to boot.

Image
No train for me today!

Image
There is Dora waiting on her tracks to be replaced.

Image
alot of debris still in area mixed with the landscape.

Image
seems alot of new dirt has been brought in to level top of dirt hill.

Image
Dora's New Layout and looks like it is complete and is there a footer in here somewhere.

Image
Looks like a great bonfire in the making

Image
Notice the Utility Markers

Image
Yes this is where you will find the Job Super in that Trailer but gander at the orange flags.

Image
Utility Markers alog with other things if you look closer.

Image
You will find alot of these in places now.

Just my two cents to be added to this growing thread.

I would say that as long as they start the gound work by Oct or Nov it could still be a hyper. Don't forget the reason they started on Diamondback so early is cause of the cold weather in Ohio. If you pour concrete in too cold weather it will become brittle.

I would like to see an Intamin Vertical lift coaster like Fahrenheit. That would be cool. CF likes B&M, Intamin, and GCI the most so I would say on of them. The posablities are endless at this point.
My favorite words to hear. "ALL CLEAR"

Going out on limb with this one and stepping on some toes, and I don't claim to speak with any authority; I've only posted here for about a year. I'm not an Acer, only have several parks to my name, and have never personally met anyone here. Just a guy who grew up with the local park and am a fan of the industry nonetheless. Which is why I'm a big fan of this forum. Some of these guys have been posting here for years and know what they're talking about. It's a great little community, packed with helpful information, and can be a lot of fun.

You know what isn't fun? Scrolling through the same image five times because people haven't thought to remove it from their quotes - no wonder it racked up 7 pages last night. You know what else isn't fun? Reading posts with lack of regard for grammar, spelling, context, or depth. I've made a little over a hundred posts here in about a year, and have tried to make them relevant, or entertaining at the least. One member has graced us with nearly 50 posts within the last 2 days of joining, and has said next to nothing.

A certain individual "Child" made an irresponsible post on multiple other sites and unfortunately it found its way here. Regardless of the validity of the image, it was clearly done for attention to witness the sh*tstorm of controversy it would create. One with more forethought would have provided credible information to back up their find rather than play some silly head game that some on this site were all to eager to fall for.

I'm as excited as everyone else about The Big One. I certainly understand the thrill of the chase here. Speculation can be fun, anticipation can be sweet - relax and enjoy it. Getting there is half the fun. Don't suffer these fools easily. Going into the next year, this forum will be getting a lot more attention from other sources rather than us locals. Is last night's free-for-all how you really want to be perceived?

Sorry, this is probably the only rant you'll ever hear from me. I'd like to go back to being a goofball taking silly pictures of dirt, and when the time is right, actual footers, supports, and track. Just wishing everyone would step up their game a little.

^^Amen, I felt like I was in church! Is there anyway to delete those seven pages since we got nothing out of it except junk and my posting of a piece of track I never seen, but turned out to be a dive machine sent overseas?!

Well said, Wormy! I don't think the wait will be much longer... that is until there is some real credible moves made on the construction site... and still plenty of time for the HUGE addition to the park we all know is coming... might not know until the official announcement at Coaster Stock, if that is indeed when they make it...

As someone who enjoys reading these pages about Carowinds that last 24 hours have been interesting. I never post, however, I was incline to respond. I was at Carowinds today having lunch across the street. All I can report is many "red" dump trucks were seen coming and going from the construction site. There was also a "yellow" bulldoser moving the dirt around. As someone who lived for 30 plus years next to the original Magic Mountain.....relax. The site is being developed for a "large" coaster. My experiences from SFMM is that we will have announcement before July and that it is most likely a hyper considering the vastness of the size. BTW....couldn't see any footers from a 1/4 mile away. :D

Okay...I'm not going through all these pages (I don't have enough advil for that). I just have one question: where is this "supposed" footer at?

While I was posting a lot last night, I didn't believe it was a coaster footer from the beginning. I kept grilling the guy who originally posted it to try and catch him in the lie.

LOL, I saw some of your posts on TN too....You kinda reminded me of Perry Mason.
"You failed to answer the second question"

Why don't Carowinds just put up the web cam over that dirt site so Wormy can have a little bit of a break and enjoy a ride or 2 on the way home. We're getting the pics anyway!! Give us something to do from 9-5 everyday and we can discuss after dark on the board. :D
Build it, and they will come

Well said Wormy, I wish I could appoint you as moderator. I could have used the assistance as Max and Jon were both away on trips this past weekend.

I'm wondering if I should go back and just delete half that crap. :?:

EDIT: I did indeed go back and delete all the fake footer talk, garbage, off topic comments, and personal attacks.. should be safe posting for now.
I just deleted your post.
