Man, I was goning to go on sunday but I forgot about that draft thing, is that only on saturday or is it also on suday, becuase the park will probaly be pretty crowded.
Hey guys, new here. These are pics from This past weekend. Attendance was very high saturday. Not too bad Sunday considering the rain either. Notice the line for Nighthawk and the Saturator pieces are behind the Rapids.
I would also assume that it might have something to do with capacity. The load time for Nighthawk is considerably higher than Afterburn, not to mention the difference in train capacity (24 vs. 32, respectively). The manufacturer's stated capacity for Nighthawk is 1000 riders/hour (and I doubt it is even at that) whereas Afterburn has a capacity of 1380/hour. That would be an additional 16 train cycles every hour on Nighthawk. Or to put it another way, that would be taking 24 people out of the Nighthawk queue about every 4 minutes.
I don't care what it is called, but a Nascar themed coaster only a short drive from Charlotte is pure genius.... and for a hyper coaster, the name isn't bad at all... much more original than Goliath or Bohemoth! what if they had named Head Spin Goliath or The Intimidator.... IMO, it could be a lot worse, aka Goliath at SFFT
..actually if they had named Head Spin Goliath, they'd probably go all the way and name it Carolina Goliath.. that would definitely be an issue.
"Lookit here son, I say son, did ya see that hawk after those hens? He scared 'em! That Rhode Island Red turned white. Then blue. Rhode Island. Red, white, and blue. That's a joke, son. A flag waver. You're built too low. The fast ones go over your head. Ya got a hole in your glove. I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em. Ya gotta keep your eye on the ball. Eye. Ball. I almost had a gag, son. Joke, that is. "<br>
So, we have a "good idea" of the location, footprint, manufacturer, contractor, announcement date (CoasterStock perhaps), name, theme, and color. Speculation on height and elements? Or are we getting way too ahead of ourselves...
Wormy it is so fun sticking our heads out of the car window while it speeds down the narrow road barely missing trees? Judging from the size of the flume area, i would guess that this will have a final splashdown before it enters the station.
I still think the layout could go out like this--> station at corner furthest from the Skytower, turn towards the pay for parking booths, lift hill ends right above the booths, straight out hill, hammerhead, hill, hill, hill, turn once back over the flume's footprint, a bunch of helixes and tight turns, and eventually makes its way back to the station... I guess I'm still hoping for a better version of Raging Bull
ah who cares.. a hyper is a hyper.. I just hope some of that Top Gun uniqueness, etc, will rub off on the Intimidator

I think, though, in this instance, it could really pay off with Carowinds first real marquis coaster... perhaps they could pay back the rights with many sponsorships... just like on Nascar stock cars... cover the station and the paths with sponsorship signs and other Nascar memorabilia... it could be pulled off very well. Such a great marquis coaster deserves more than the omnipresent ambiguity of CF.
I would bet the sponsorships really pour in, too.... Carowinds really should theme this thing to the nth... and advertise it in Nascar literature and at events... Carowinds could really milk this
