Lots of new pics on screamscape today. Construction turning up a notch due to welcome center deadline no less. They decided to quit shoveling around sand for 10 min. so that they could throw up a sign. It looks pretty sweet. Heres a link to the pics.

New construction photos posted at discover myrtle beach site.

Ad for the new preview center (opening April 18th) recently was released. Mentions that the park will have six unique themed zones and over 40 attractions. Sorry its not bigger.

As a side note you may see where Darlington Raceway and HRP have cut a deal to promote each other at upcoming events. Darlington Raceway will promote the park at its upcoming 2007 Dodge Avenger 500 weekend, May 11-12. HRP will promote for Darlington Raceway at its upcoming preview.

The parks website is now up and running. Thank God I felt like I had to have on a shirt and tie every time I checked out the corporate site. It's pretty sweet, you can actually get tickets to the upcoming preview center, access the construction cam, and a few other odds and ends, and whatnoght, and so on and so forth.

Something else that is definitely worth your hype reading skills is this outtake that I found from some "make love, not war" "hug a tree" hippie site:

Shattered by the ignominy that CBGB, having closed on the Bowery, will next year reopen in — of all places! — Las Vegas? We've got bad news for you, then: It gets much worse. We received this press release today:

Subject: First Rock & Roll Theme Park to Obtain CBGB Wall

Hi,
Hard Rock Park, the world’s first rock ‘n’ roll amusement park, is hitting the road, embarking on a six city tour designed to spread news of Myrtle Beach’s newest attraction….

New York’s Hard Rock Café will be donating one of the most definitive classic pieces’ of New York City: A CBGB's wall section that was removed from the venue after it closed in 2006.

Image

Yeah, that's right. For now, the only part of CBGB you can see is a wall, and the only way to see it is as a part of traveling amusement park headed for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We'd be indignant, except for one thing: We remember those walls, and we can't imagine paying real money to go see 'em.
****************************************************************

I thought it was interesting anyway. For all of you who find that youre inconveniently shallow knowledge in the ways of "country blue grass blues watering holes" vexes you, I have posted a wikilink to drowned yourself in education regarding the highly celebrated CBGB's club in New York. Pretty sweet that its coming here (HRP)....even if the hippies do have doubts.

Breaking news.

They will be getting TWO coasters. Or at least that's what they are saying. One might be a disk-o, but I can't confirm either way.

Maximum RPM! | A convertible car-coaster that races to 1980s new age hits

Midnight Rider | A Southern Rock roller coaster that careens through a creepy abandoned lumber mill.

How the heck did you get a disk-O outta those decriptions?!?!

Also on the backstage tour area of the main site they show a blueprint-like rendering of the park!

You beat me to that post...I was going to post the blueprints. :D

Maybe someone will post a more zoomed in version, or I will later. I started to but got pulled away. The screenshot preserves aspect fairly well.

I can't remember where I heard that, but I totally hope I'm wrong.

Of course KI called avatar a new coaster and it was a disko, so did Great America.

Will even be real close to there thursday morning for work before I fly up to Knoxville.

I find it hard to believe that they are going to build one of those Caripro elevator lift coasters as appears to be depicted in the rendering. Looks good though!
