*cough cough the Jersey Giant giga coaster*

Despite Joker still being an extremely fun coaster, its depressing when you think of what could've been...

I'm really enjoying Carolina Harbor, and while I'm sad TR is gone I feel much less bitter now.

Relaxing by the pool and having a new entry point is really nice this year, as I haven't been doing the more intense ride(headache).

I love the new slides.

Yep, Carolina Harbor is pretty awesome. I have a lot of good memories from Thunder Road but it was without a doubt a great decision by Cedar Fair to do what they did. On several occasions where we've went to the park during the week most of the rides are walk ons or close to it and Carolina Harbor is still jammed like a weekend.

Umm no, we haven't become the southern trash can for all of Cedar Fair's unwanted rides.

(To be fair Dorney is a pretty beautiful park that gets more negativity than it deserves)

Absolutely not. While people love the water park, the main park at Carowinds gets lots of visitors. Dorney is an interesting park A good bit of classic rides and some nice coasters. It's rich in history and I feel that could be more of a focal point of the park.

The only way we became the Dorney Park of the south was getting Mike, and then Brad for a while. They both understood the value that a little relatively inexpensive paint and additional landscaping brings to a park. Carowinds clearly looks more well maintained since we were able to benefit from their attention to detail.

Now if we could only get Dolly for a year to bring in truckloads of trees....

In the past 2 years Carowinds removes a total of 2 attractions from Carolina harbor. They have taken that land up to use for county fair and copperhead strike. While I am excited for Copperhead Strike to debut this leaves me wondering, will Carowinds have much space left to use for the waterpark after they use the current space up? I think they have definetly made Carolina Harbor smaller.
