Sorry 'bout that.. the track is indeed a beautiful Red. The camera didn't behave well in the rain, and all of the Skytower pics came out blurry, except for this one:

So, nothing major. And yes, 15 track pieces. The latest arrivals run parallel to TR's lift, and are curved.

Great Pictures Lily the Walrus - and getting them while traveling in a car makes it very impressive! such a ride warrior you really are!

In regards to ride being called "whyte lightning" though the drink (moonshine) roots are in west virgina - moonshine had a great influence in start of car racing in NC - so if this new ride is indeed nascar themed then it would be appropriate name for ride

disclaimer: (i do not follow nascar but as a history nerd and major in college one of my professor wrote a book on the influence of moonshine in nascar)

Ok, went to the park today for a couple hours. No pics, wife has the camera with her summer camp kids. No use really. Doesn't appear to be any more track in. Thunder Road was down today, but from the top of Afterburn I couldn't see anything more in the area than the pieces that have been reported on. They are digging around the area where the drain/hole has been. I would say the possibility of a small pond in the area is good. I guess we'll see soon. And no, I didn't say splash down. Also pouring more footers. The usual stuff.

I just looked up http://whitelightning.carowinds.com/ and the attached file is what comes up on the main page. I used Google Chrome and IE 7. Same results. I can assure you that this was not photoshopped, etc. Try it for yourself.

I was at the park today until about 3pm and 3 of 'thought' we each counted 17 pieces of track. One of the pieces is turned track side down. Due to the limited view of not seeing all pieces at one time while going up TR lift hill, we could have mis counted. One of us got 14 the first time and then 17 the next count. I also tried to count on the way back in and seemed to get the same number. Anyone else get this number from today?

Yeah, my grandfather and I were at the park today also and both counted 17 pieces of track beside Thunder Road.
