Closer still. No, 12 coasters isn't enough! It says something like "200 lbs" on there. So I'm guessing either a 200ft drop or lift. Let's hope for 230ft lift and 200ft drop.

It looks like it says 3891200 lbs. Could be 3891 ft. long and 200 ft. high, but that seems rather short. Goliath at SFOG is 4480 ft. long. Even so, I think that number could mean something, because that would translate to 1950 tons which no container would weigh. Why put that on their? Maybe just to confuse us?

Perhaps the entire coaster weighs 3.8 million pounds?

Look again. It has been registered.

Yes, it is available. Do the domain lookup and not the whois lookup. The reason the whois lookup says it is not available is because it is not registered to anyone and thus not in the whois records.

Record Breaking, History Making=Largest capital investment in park history, exceeding the initial investment to open the park. I think that is what Fair claimed for Wonderland.

Strangely, if it were more than that I think the announcement would come before the announcement at Kings Dominion. Why do I say this? If you were going for a height record in the Southeast, you would announce before KD just so you could have the lime light and media attention. If KD is in fact getting a Giga, and are announcing before Carowinds, it will certainly make the latter Carowinds announcement some what anti-climatic to the local media.

Now consider this, being that KD is announcing before Carowinds (according to rumor), maybe, just maybe Fair has something up it's sleeve knowing that the KD announcement will not distract from Carowinds.

In translating all of this, being that Carowinds and KD are in the same neck of the woods, it does not make logical sense for the company to announce the largest project first, which would over shadow the smaller one. Perhaps the Carowinds project will be something that rivals the KD project in terms of records.

^ I wouldn't doubt it. That whole project up there is suspicious. But I'm veering off topic...

lol man, reading this forum one thing is consistant. Majority of the people on here are trying hard not to be disappointed. CMON people, the crate said THINK BIG! Carowinds doesnt really have much that puts it on the map or makes it stand out why not go for a world record coaster of some type. I read one comment that said that the record breaking would be "tallest coaster at carowinds". How boring. Dream Big. Get Excited! Good things come to those who wait, my guess is, we waited 37 years. This will be huge.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had just assumed that whoever posted that link was doing a reg lookup. Regardless, I think the subdomain on the Carowinds site is a significant sign.

While I understand the point you are trying to get across here, you are only setting yourself up for disappointment if/when it turns out to be anything but world record breaking. Everything factual that we have come across points to a standard B&M hyper. There is a lot of rampant speculation about this ride that people are putting out there, and I think a lot of you will be disappointed when you find out that it's not the 300ft., 8 mile long, launched giga you were hoping for.

Factual? where is this "factual" information? Everything here is speculation. Until track arrives, or carowinds tells us directly. Its all speculation.

Being that this is a standard B&M construction site, footer size and all, I wonder how high could they go without changing the lift hill design and support system? Some folk are saying that this lift hill base looks larger than standard? :?:

FACT: Cedar Fair has bought 3 hypers from B&M, two of which have been built.
FACT: The only CF parks that don't have a hyper are Carowinds, KD, Michigan's Adventure, Knott's, and Great America. The only one of which that has a plot of land currently under construction to support a B&M hyper is Carowinds.
FACT: The layout of the designated area for this ride is most certainly out and back, and in the same size range for other hypers (I and a few others have measured it on GoogleEarth).
FACT: The footer design for the beginning of the lift hill is for all intents and purposes identical to both Diamondback and Behemoth.
FACT: The footer markings are identical to several other B&Ms both in Carowinds and outside.
FACT: The red B&M track at the Ohio plant is hyper track.

Those are facts. One of those facts by itself may not mean a whole heck of a lot, but when you put them together the puzzle pieces fit. If this is anything other than a standard B&M hyper I'll eat my words.

I still think a launched lift could be the unique element of the ride. It would be a little unexpected from B&M, but I still have a feeling it may happen. Especially if the ride is White Lightning.

It looks like they are digging for one solid footer that would be the same as the two tall columns in this picture http://www.rcdb.com/ig4253.htm?picture=10

All of those footers line up exactly with Diamondback's footers - 2 in the station, 1 connecting to lift, 4 bottom of lift, 2 on lift.

If you remember back in June I called for a Launched Hyper and everyone thought I was crazy. That is why I stayed off the board for some time. Maybe that is what the "record breaking and history" part will be?
