Just got back from the park. Rebars have started going into the ground and trucks are still pouring cement. Also there are black tarps around the holes, there were 5 or 6 of those. No pictures. Also, this may have already been posted, if so, sorry.

Just saw the picture of the black tarps on here. I can tell you they are there for the prevention of a construction worker falling in.

EDIT: If you look closely at the first picture by BK 1870, it seems they are trying to preserve the drain from the former pond. Wonder why...

Yeah. If there wasn't drainage, the site could flood and become a mess when it rains. I'm not saying the area around the drain won't be used for a splashdown in the future though.

That would be an epic incorrect on your guess about the black tarp. It is to prevent water and mud from running off into the areas that Concrete that has been poured into. The worst thing that can take place now is to have a fresh pour contaminated by a foreign body (Water or Mud) that would prevent the pour from drying and setting the Concrete up.

And in the future if you want to guess what things are for then atleast do not make a wild guess. You might be surprised what types of trades and walks of life varies members of this boards are from.

You're probably right, but why would it have yellow Caution tape on it? I'm pretty sure mud and water can't read 'Caution'.

I can't believe I'm actually having to explain this, but I'm going to do it anyway.

The caution tape is to warn people not to step on it because they will fall into a huge hole that they can't see because it is covered by a tarp.

I feel dumb for even having to write that.

I did not see anywhere in your post about any Yellow Caution tape just that the BLACK Tarp was to prevent workers from falling in. I was even kind enough to go back and make sure I did not cut out anything you said. If you are trying to make me look stupid then you have another EPIC FAIL on your hands. Do you even think about what you post on here?

I do so look forward to more things taking place on site to see what kind of entertainment you provide.

Looking at these pictures. I think it's pretty obvious the lift hill will go towards the parking lot. Just look at the four+one footers above the truck, that's the base of the lift hill. The five footers creating an X below the truck is for the station. I'm clueless as to where the final brake is, as there are pink flags all over between the picnic area and the dirt. Perhaps we will see returning bunny hops over there and some how some twists and turns to the final brake. Maybe similar to what Apollo's Chariot does, go under the lift hill and hit the brakes after the final few dips?

Concrete doesn't "dry" to strength, it sets. Foreign bodies like clay/mud are a problem early in the set if they penetrate the mix but rain in and of itself should not be a problem unless it flows and creates a channel during the set. Properly formed and reinforced concrete is pretty much good to go in a couple of hours. Undoubtedly they are pouring into forms of some sort. Methinks the tarps are mostly for show and OSHA. If they are that dependent on weather then they won't pour. This is tested concrete and any engineer worth his PE isn't going to call for a mix and pour with a Carolina thunder boomer on the horizon.

The drains that the tarps surround weren't poured with concrete on site. They were prefabricated off-site then set into the ground. The tarps are there to keep mud/silt from going into the drains, while the caution tape is there to warn workers about the holes. And yes it's an OSHA requirement.
